Crisis Management

It is one thing for your organisation to be adept in issues management, when you have control over some aspects of the situation; it is quite another when managing a crisis.  You have no idea when it may happen, or how long it may last.

To ensure your organisation is prepared to manage an incident or crisis, the first step is to undertake a crisis audit.  The audit is a thorough analysis of your current plans, procedures and training against the ISO 22399 international standard.

It will quickly reveal if there are any chinks in the armour.

One common problem is a failure to predict likely incidents.  A risk analysis can provide you with an insight into likely problems that your organisation may have to deal with in the future.  The report will also provide suggested mitigation and monitoring measures that will reduce risks and stop problems escalating into an incident or crisis.

If you don’t have an incident or crisis management  manual, Socom can assist you develop one that suits the needs of your organisation.  When it’s been approved, it is prudent to train the team how to use it during a high-pressure simulation exercise.  This exercise is recorded and reviewed so that we can provide a comprehensive report on the team’s performance, as well as recommendations for improvement.
