Socom offers four, two-week, work experience positions every year.
These positions are available during the following periods:
January – March
April – June
July – September
October – December
Work experience students at Socom are provided with the opportunity to gain practical experience in public relations, develop basic public relations skills, and become familiar with the Socom approach.
Requirements
The Socom work experience program is open to undergraduate or TAFE students studying public relations, marketing, journalism, politics or law. We seek individuals who have strong academic results, exceptional communications skills, good interpersonal skills, an eagerness to learn and the ability to take initiative.
Application Procedure
Those interested in Socom’s work experience program should apply online by completing the application form outlining why you would like to work with Socom.
Once your application has been submitted online you will receive an email confirming that it has been successfully submitted to us. If you have not received this email within 48 hours of submitting your application please contact us on 03 8317 0111.
Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview.
Timing
The committee will review all applications as per schedule below:
Placements for period January to June :
Application close on 15 November
Placements for period July to December :
