Improving internal communication for change
Campaign:
City of Melbourne (COM) engaged Socom to undertake a review of their internal communication operations. The overarching objective of the review was to ensure COM employed a best practice approach to internal communication to meet the changing needs and expectations of the organisation.
Our Approach:
Socom undertook best practice research on a number of progressive Australian organisations and an audit of the existing suite of internal communication services within the COM (including the intranet). The review was informed by consultation with a cross section of COM staff through focus groups.
Results:
Socom’s report to COM identified a number of internal communication services needing improvement and highlighted 11 recommendations.
