City of Kingston

Involving the community for the future

Campaign:
The State Government wanted all metropolitan local governments to produce structure plans for their activity centres to demonstrate how the municipality would cater for an increase in population.  Socom assisted the City of Kingston with a consultation plan, following the development of its draft Structure Plans for five key activity centres in the municipality. Council wanted to present these to the community for feedback before finalising them and submitting them to the Minister for approval.

Our Approach:
Socom developed a program that included community meetings, facilitated by Socom, community surveys that were both distributed to residents and offered online and assistance with preparing the presentation and the information pack.

Results:
This program was successfully implemented, under relatively short timeframes so the report could be presented to the Councillors.
